Based on several opinions on the emergence and spread of corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19), this paper discusses China’s institutional advantages revealed in resisting COVID-19. Firstly, the united leadership of the Party for resisting the epidemic demonstrates the political advantage of socialism institution with Chinese characteristics. Secondly, public hospitals do their basic duty of serving the people heart and soul. Thirdly, state-owned enterprises play an important role of “national hope”. Fourthly, the construction of Leishenshan Hospital and Huoshenshan Hospital reveals the institutional advantage for socialism to do great work by centralizing powers. Fifthly, sealing off the city and province embodies the integrity of Chinese nation for sacrificing individual family to save more families. On the basis of the experience from this epidemic situation, in the future, China should pay attention to the following tasks, firstly, China should emphasize biological safety to protect the healthy development of Chinese nation; secondly, China should strengthen the legal construction of food safety to seriously strike the illegal behaviors for hunting and eating wild animals; thirdly, China should boost the rapid emergency capability of local governments by perfecting the national governance system for efficiently preventing and controlling the unexpected health events; fourthly, China should confidently make the state-owned enterprises stronger, more excellent and bigger to let the state-owned enterprises play the leading role; fifthly, China should continue to keep the public and socialism feature of medical and health system to strengthen the socialism property of public medical health cause.
