| 1891年重庆开埠使重庆城市走上了近代化的道路。抗日战争，这个特殊的外在历史条件，为重庆城市近代化的完成提供了契机。抗战时期的大规模内迁，为重庆注入了城市近代化的因子，使重庆成为名副其实的大后方的政治、经济、军事、文化中心，重庆最终完成了城市近代化。 |

| The municipal modernization of Chongqing commenced from 1891.Anti-Japanese War,a special historic condition,provided the opportunity for the modernization of Chongqing.The big scale inland movement brought modernization factor to Chongqing and made Chongqing become real political,economic,military and cultural center and finish Chongqing's modern urbanization. |
